A woman who for months was unable to qualify for food stamps pulled a gun in a state welfare office on Monday and staged a seven-hour standoff with the police that ended with her shooting her two children before killing herself, officials said.

The children are alive but in critical condition. As the non-updated Gawker article chillingly points out, During the standoff, Grimmer Grimmer’s daughter, Ramie, changed her Facebook page to read “may die 2day.” If you’re poor you need a tremendous amount of creativity to survive, any lack of creativity and you’re guaranteed failure. This is terrible all-around.
